I recently purchased a new performance laptop and decided to make the jump to Apple because I like the 13" Macbook Pro form factor.

I have been using Audiomulch since the early days and consider myself a pretty advanced user when it comes to using AM's multiple I/O capabilities. I am not sure this is a bug, but for some reason after developing a rather complex patch using several Aux Inputs contraptions I was unable to add a SoundIn contraption... as if it was already used in the patcher. Everything looked copacetic in preferences/Audio Input section mapping and I was able to get them to show by starting over on a new patch. When I select all contraptions then delete... the contraption becomes available again. Its just so weird that I cannot find it in my patcher pane. Is there a way SoundIn could have been dragged off the screen? I have never had this problem in the PC version. I am using a MOTU Ultralite (firewire) interface.

Hi Derek

*If* the SoundIn has been dragged "off the screen" the patcher window should show a horizontal and/or vertical scrollbar...

Is there any chance that you have inadvertently renamed the SoundIns' contraption to Aux_In(
x)? That would be consistent with what you are experiencing.

Can't really think of anything else other than a system or machine specific problem (or AM bug)...

thanks Spectro,
Through process of elimination I tried deleting each input to no avail to see if I had renamed it like you suggested. I think it might be off the pane somewhere but beyond the horizontal/vertical scroll bars. Lion has done very interesting stuff with the OSX UI so I am wondering if AM is not showing a full window or I am just missing something stupid. I am seeing various UI discrepancies between OSX and Windows (no deal breakers... thinks like midi and audio status via blinky lights on the contraptions) so I want to spend some more time exploring AM for Mac. Everything runs great though... and making the jump to 256gb SSD is super rewarding.

Hi Derek

Go to the view menu and select "Show Contraption Input/Output Activity Indications"

As for the SoundOut thing.. that does sound like a reasonable hypothesis (that it's scrolled off the screen somewhere). If you create another contraption and drag it around and off the visible area that might force the scroll bars to display -- just an idea. Of course none of this is "normal".

Hello Derek,

Did you ever find the SoundIn contraption in this patch? If it's still a problem, do you still have the patch? If so would you mind emailing it to me at [email protected].

Thanks

Ross.
